Nutrition Notes 5/7/18
We are getting to another Holiday time of year filled with fun, family and almost always FOOD. Sometimes these events present unique challenges to my clients who are trying to eat mindfully, decrease body fat, and stay in a good rhythm and routine with eating and exercise.
Since these festivities seem to last all day, what about trying to divide the food into two “meals”? Have the savory food as a “lunch” meal and then 3-4 hours later, have the treats/dessert as a “dinner” meal. This way, you get to enjoy the feast, but you make it easier to keep your calories reasonable by breaking the eating into two chunks.
I do understand about not wanting to wait for dessert. What if it is all gone? Just take what you want and set it aside to eat later. I promise that your body will be happier with two meal chunks, and it will have less of an overload to store as fat.
