Nutrition Notes 2/19
March is National Nutrition Month, so I am using February to emphasize Activity/Fitness/Exercise*.
The Bad News: Lack of exercise accounts for about 117 billion/year in health costs, and is one of the 4 leading factors in the development of cardiovascular disease which is still the #1 killer of both men and women.
The Good news: Even a little daily activity (of any intensity) can reap benefits of: lower inflammation, improved blood pressure and heart function, slowed aging, increased telomere length, improved insulin response and reduced risk of many diseases including cancer.
So, to live a longer, healthier life, get up and get moving!
