I have been a weekly personal training client with Karl Malmsheimer of Fitness Clinic since it’s opening on Los Gatos Blvd. For nearly 18 years I have benefited Fromm being a part of this gym and kept in shape to accomplish being able to experience nine European biking trips, hike Mt. Whitney and be a better golfer. It is a special place with multiple workout machines, great TV /radio coverage and shower facilities. Because of the intimate atmosphere I have become friends with many of the clients. It’s the place to be !

I cant thank Lisa enough for her help with my family. Besides the quality facility she runs and the state of the art equipment she uses, Lisa is kind, thoughtful and was incredibly helpful in determining a strategy for weight loss, diet, and fitness. She is delicate with her clients and wonderfully supportive. The results were immediate. I recommend Lisa and the Fitness Clinic as highly as possible. Her program works!!
Approaching 60 years old and after working 40 years at a desk I knew I needed to get in better shape, but was reluctant to go to a gym as I’d had some bad experiences. I initially made an appointment with Lisa Richardson (recommended by my doctor) who is also a Registered Dietitian. We discussed my diet and lifestyle and made an appointment for me to come in for a session. I’ve been going to the Fitness Clinic three times a week ever since. Lisa is kind of a stealth coach. While I’m walking on the treadmill she’s telling stories or talking sports or movies or TV shows or books and next thing I know the 40 minutes are up. Same with the exercise part, over the last 1.5 years she has gradually increased the weight or number of reps without me really noticing. I am very happy with the results, especially that I’m actually still going to the gym! I’m working with Karl Malmsheimer as well (Lisa Monday & Friday, Karl on Wednesdays) and his knowledge of just how your body works is extensive. Karl has a lot of interests and I enjoy working with him and our philosophical discussions. The Fitness Clinic is not a big facility but there are plenty of treadmills, exercise bikes, other fitness machines, weights and various exercise stuff, all in good condition. Everything is always clean and neat, it’s never too crowded, there’s plenty of parking, and everyone is very friendly and welcoming.
One of the greatest gifts I ever gave myself is membership at The Fitness Clinic. Karl Malmsheimer, my personal trainer, together with Lisa Richardson, co-owners, are first class professionals. All the trainers have as a goal your success, whether it is weight loss and/or increase in strength and agility.Memberships are also available on an Open Gym basis without personal training – the choice is yours. Equipment is pristine and the facility could not be cleaner. I joined with the hope of losing weight before my daughter’s wedding. I lost 35 pounds in 4 months – 18 years ago. And I am still working out, 2 days a week.
I love this place! I’m only in town for a week, and this place has been nothing but a wonderful experience. Everyone I’ve met has been super sweet and helpful. The equipment is easy to use and I never feel rushed or pressured 🙂
Fitness Clinic is a great place to get in and workout with no fuss or muss. Extremely clean facility with a full array of fitness/circuit equipment, free weights, plasma screen TVs with individual controls at each of the cardio machines, satellite surround music system and large picture windows looking outside… Karl and Lisa (owners) and the personal training staff are very friendly, knowledgeable and ready to help. This is the kind of gym you can go to and not feel like it is a “place to see and be seen”. Love it!
I don’t know about the rest of you, but working out is not what you’d call my “forte”. I really wish I was one of those people that just L-O-V-E to workout, but let’s be real here people… I’m not! I was referred to the FC thru my doctor and I have been going there the last few months. I still don’t L-O-V-E to workout but I have come to love the facility and the staff. I work out weekly with Nicole, who is awesome! When I first met with the co-owner Lisa, I told her what it was I was looking for not only in a trainer but in a workout regiment. She paired me up with a couple people until I found Nicole. After the first 5 minutes I knew that it was a match. She works with my strengths and weaknesses and pushes me to not only be a stronger person but a better person. She is funny and she is easy to talk to, she is super sweet and she won’t take my crap. Which let’s face it, when you don’t L-O-V-E to workout you find excuses! I expect a lot out of my trainers, just like they expect out of me. It’s all about the give and take and I appreciate and respect the relationship we have built. It’s a pretty small (but comfortable) space, so you get to know everyone really quick. They are all very friendly and helpful! They also offer massage therapists and an on-site Pilates instructor! If you are looking for a facility that not only works with your needs but with your expectations I highly recommend the Fitness Clinic!
The Fitness clinic is the perfect , comfortable, come as you are boutique gym with nice equipment and showers. I love that no one bothers me when I work out. If I need a kick in the butt I can request a personal training session, otherwise my no monthly fee or obligation punch card can carry me for months.. The leg/butt machine is the best….now if only I wasn’t so lazy. Also, if you like wearing cute, skimpy clothes when you work out this isn’t the place for you!
